During ROSCon 2021 there will be a photographer roaming during the conference onsite taking conference related photos that will be used for promotional materials and on the ROSCon website. If you do not want to be included in any photographs at ROSCon 2021, please change the selection below.   

Demographic Information

ROSCon is committed to increasing diversity, equity and inclusion in our work. This effort can be enhanced with demographic statistics collected through the registration process. This information is collected solely for the purpose of compiling, analyzing and disclosing statistics of attendance at ROSCon to help track progress towards meeting our commitment to diversity.  

Consent to provide demographic information for the purpose listed above is optional and voluntary, and is provided by selecting an option from the drop-down for the corresponding question. Demographic information is considered confidential and it will not be shared with others as part of your registration details, nor will it be used to subject you to adverse treatmnent. 

Code of Conduct

All attendees, speakers, sponsors and volunteers at our conference are required to agree with the Code of Conduct, the full text of which can be reviewed on our website. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event. We expect cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everybody. 

New to the Code of Conduct for 2021: Attendee Health and Safety Guidelines

With regards to attendee health and safety during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, ROSCon will be following all applicable local public health guidelines in order to provide as safe an environment as possible when meeting in person for ROSCon 2021. This segment of the Code of Conduct may be revised as needed to reflect the latest guidance and is current as of 6/16/2021. 

ROSCon encourages attendees to be fully vaccinated prior to arriving onsite at the conference. In addition, the organizers ask that you:

  • Follow relevant guidance provided by the World Health Organization (WHO), or your local health authority.
  • Adhere to government-issued travel restrictions and guidance issued by the region you will be traveling to and the region you are traveling from (including compliance required by airlines or other travel services).
  • Evaluate your own health and that of people you are in close contact with; Contact the ROSCon organizers if you have concerns.
  • Stay home if you feel sick and seek medical attention at any time if you feel unwell or are experiencing flu-like symptoms.
  • Follow guidance from your local health authority for everyday preventive actions to help the spread of respiratory viruses.

By registering to attend ROSCon 2021 (“Event”), I agree to the following Terms and Conditions, and I attest that I have read and will abide by the Code of Conduct linked above. I understand that updates may be made to the Health and Safety guidelines mentioned in the Code of Conduct leading up to and during the Event as circumstances change due to the pandemic.

I expressly acknowledge that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any place where people gather and that no precautions (including the Safety Requirements described in the Event Code of Conduct) can eliminate the risk of exposure to COVID-19. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. While people of all ages and health conditions have been adversely affected by COVID-19, certain people have been identified by public health authorities as having greater risk based on age and underlying medical conditions. BY ATTENDING THE EVENT, I VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL RISK AND DANGER of personal injury (including death), sickness (including illness and other risks of exposure to COVID-19, or any other communicable disease or illness, or a bacteria, virus or other pathogen capable of causing a communicable disease or illness), lost, stolen, damaged or confiscated property, and all other hazards arising from, or related in any way to, the Event, whether occurring prior to, during, or after the Event, however caused and whether by negligence or otherwise.

On behalf of Myself (Attendee) and the Attendee’s Related Persons (defined below), I further hereby release (and covenant not to sue) each of the Released Parties (defined below) with respect to any and all claims that the Attendee or any of the Attendee’s Related Persons may have (or hereafter accrue) against any of the Released Parties and that relate in any way to (i) exposure to COVID-19; (ii) entry into, or presence within or around the Event (including all risks related thereto) or compliance with any protocols or Safety Requirements applicable to the Event; or (iii) any interaction between the Attendee and the Attendee’s Related Persons, on the one hand, and any personnel of any of the Released Parties present at the Event, on the other hand, in each case whether caused by any action, inaction or negligence of any Released Party or otherwise.

As used herein:
-“Related Persons” means the Attendee’s heirs, assigns, executors, administrators, next of kin, anyone attending the Event with the Attendee (which persons the Attendee represents have authorized the Attendee to act on their behalf for purposes of these terms), and other persons acting or purporting to act on the Attendee’s or their behalf.
-“Released Parties” means: (i) Open Source Robotics Foundation, Inc. and its direct and indirect owners, affiliates, administrators, designees, licensees, and other personnel; (ii) the direct and indirect owners, lessees and sublessees of Event venue; (iii) all third parties performing services at Event venue; (iv) any parents, subsidiaries, affiliated and related companies of each of the entities described in clauses (i)-(iii); and (v) the officers, directors, owners, members, managers, partners, employers, employees, agents, contractors and sub-contractors (and employees of such contractors and sub-contractors), insurers, representatives, other personnel, successors and/or assigns of each of the foregoing entities and persons described in clauses (i) (v), whether past, present or future and whether in their institutional or personal capacities.

THE ATTENDEE AND OPEN SOURCE ROBOTICS FOUNDATION, INC. AGREE THAT ALL DISPUTES SHALL BE ARBITRATED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO LITIGATE IN COURT OR ARBITRATE ANY CLAIM AS A CLASS ACTION, REPRESENTATIVE ACTION, OR CLASS ARBITRATION. IF THE HOLDER DOES NOT CONSENT TO THIS CLAUSE, ATTENDEE AGREES NOT TO ATTEND THE EVENT.
